President: Ken Meyer - I am a relatively new member of Rotary.  I joined the Madison club on May 7, 2006, and have enjoyed my involvement in Rotary immensely.  The fun at club meetings, the interesting meeting programs, and the community work that the club supports are the things that keep me coming to Rotary.  I would like to see our club grow in the coming years so that more people in the Madison area can share in the benefits of Rotary membership. Presently, I serve the citizens of Lake County as their elected State’s Attorney. I began serving in that position in January 2007. My  wife Casualene and I enjoy living in Madison with our six children.

Past President: Jack Walters -- Jack teaches Management at Dakota State University and conducts research on technology adoption practices and professional ethics. He moved to Madison and Dakota State in August of 2005, and soon after transferred his membership from the Bartow Rotary Club in Florida. Jack has had extensive involvement in civic clubs, including serving as President of a Sertoma Club in the 1990s. He has two grown daughters, one a stay-at-home mom in New Jersey, the other a graduate student and medical assistant in Florida. He is married to Sirje Kiin, a writer and comparative literature expert from Estonia. Jack's term as president ended on June 30, 2010.

Secretary: Marcia Bunger - On my first day of working in the Lake County FSA Office (9/17/07), I was invited by Rotarian Mark Stearns to attend Rotary as his guest.  Shortly thereafter I became a member of Madison Rotary Club.  I am a 1982 graduate of Augustana College with a degree in Communications & Business Administration.  Since 1987 I have been employed with USDA working for the Farm Service Agency.  My husband & I farm north of Spencer, SD where we raise cattle, corn & soybeans.  We have 2 children – Matthew (25) living & working in Brookings SD at Daktronics, and Marrissa (23), living & attending graduate school at USD in Vermillion, SD.  In my short time being involved with Rotary, I’ve been inspired by my fellow Rotarian’s willingness to help others.

Treasurer: Clair Welbon -- Clair is a Madison native who graduated from SDSU in 1955.  After graduation he started working for the USDA with the Soil Conservation Service in Yankton.  In February of 1956 he entered the army as a 2nd Lt. in the Artillery.  After two years tour in Germany, he returned to South Dakota and was assigned to the SCS office in Canton.  In August of 1961 he was called back to military service with the SD National Guard and spent 11 months at Fort Sill, OK.  Upon the completion of this call-up, he was assigned to the Brookings office with the SCS.  Clair became the District Conservationist at Highmore and transferred to that office in 1964. The next professional move was to Flandreau eleven years later.  He had remained with the South Dakota National Guard during this time serving with Madison, Sioux Falls, Pierre Units and the Office Candidate School in Mitchell. He retired from the SDNG with 23 years total service.  In 1983 he moved to Madison and served both Lake and Miner counties until his retirement in 1989.  He joined the Madison Rotary Club in 1984 and felt honored to have Vern Spartz as his sponsor.  He is a past president and for the past 12 years has served as treasurer.

Sergeant at Arms: David Peak - David teaches Operations Management and Statistics at Dakota State University. After a career in the oil business, David earned his doctorate from Louisiana State University. He is married to Gina Peak and proud dad of Erin and Adam.
